JOBO TecnoLab Micro Compact Film Processor

Sometimes a lab needs a film processor but the film load is not very large. In the past this would have forced a lab to select a roller transport processor, in order to get a machine with relatively small tanks allowing them to properly utilize the chemicals daily. However, roller transport film machines have often had the reputation of being a source of scratches on film, and many photographers worry that theirs will be the next roll of film to suffer this damage. That’s when they go to the next lab that has a hanger processor.

With the JOBO TecnoLab Micro Compact film processors, that problem can easily be eliminated. We offer a full range of sizes from 2-across to 6 across in 35mm delivering from 20 to 60 rolls of film per hour. Yet through their unique design, they require very little film to go through on a daily basis to meet the minimum chemical utilization requirements. Our JOBO TecnoLab Compact processors start at a mere 10 rolls per day to fully utilize the chemicals.

This small volume capability is accomplished by designing the machines to run just 10 hangers per hour in E-6 and black and white, while still maintaining 18 hangers per hour in C-41. TecnoLab reduced the dimensions of every tank in height and length (front-to-back) to reduce the amount of chemicals. This in turn reduces the amount of film and replenisher necessary to keep the chemicals fully utilized.

The physical size of these true four-column lift hanger processors, is also compact. A "full size" model will typically be at least two feet longer, and generally about 7 inches taller, so there is also a space savings for your lab.

Standard features on JOBO TecnoLab Micro Compact Film Processors

• "Full" battery backup, operating the lift, air pumps, nitrogen solenoid and wash water solenoid valves during power failure. No human intervention is needed.
• A true 4-column lift operation to evenly support the main lift rack
• Magnet sensor system for automatic variable time control of each hanger. (push/pull) 15 Times can be programmed and selected, from 4 minutes to 16 minutes, and adjustable in 1sec. Increments. (Standard on E-6 and BW. Optional on C-41.)
• Nitrogen low pressure alarm; sensors indicate if there is insufficient nitrogen available. Both an audible and on-screen alarm message are provided.
• 10 roll film hangers included (6 - 135/36; 4 - 120)
• LCD Control Panel with graphic display of normal processor functions
• Stainless steel film recovery baskets in every tank
• 3-door access to the film dryer
• 30 liter replenisher storage and mixing console with dosimetric pumps to deliver replenisher automatically.
• Motorized mixers are included in both the First and Color Developer chambers for E-6, and the developer chambers on C-41 and BW.
• Hand mixing paddles are included in each of the secondary chemical chambers.
• Seven day clock for automatic startup and shutdown

What is a less expensive alternative? What’s the next step up?

The JOBO TecnoLab Gamma processor is less expensive with similar (but fewer) features to the Compact series. 

The next step up is either a JOBO TecnoLab Micro Compact TV featuring 2 lift capability, still in a compact chassis, or to a full-size JOBO TecnoLab Delta Micro processor still with single lift operation, but generally with twice as much production per hour than the Compact series.
