Mono C-41 1 liter Mixing and Processing
Instructions
Mixing Directions:
While is it possible to mix this chemistry in amounts smaller
than one liter kit it is not advisable due to small amount of concentrate required.
Color Developer:
The developer in the C41 Kit has several
components and may appear to have separated or stratified. This is a normal occurrence for
the developer. Before mixing with water make sure the concentrate is thoroughly mixed by
shaking the bottle for 2 to 5 minutes. Chemical life of the developer is approximately
four to six weeks in sealed bottles filled to the brim, or with the use of Protectan spray
part #109556.

Bleach-Fix:
The bleach and fix steps have been combined into one step for
this kit. It is important to thoroughly mix the chemistry. As bleach needs aeration to
work properly shake the bottle for 1 minute after mixing. Bleach-fix has a shelf life of
about twelve weeks after being mixed.and stored in a sealed bottles.

Stabilizer:
Stabilizer not only acts a a wetting agent to help prevent
water sports but also helps to stabilize the dyes in the negative to prevent color shifts.
Stabilizer has a a shelf life of up to six months. Reels and and tanks should never come
into contact with stabilizer. Films should always be stabilized off the reels to avoid
contamination.

Processing Table:
The Mono C-41 one liter kit can process up to twelve medium
speed (ISO 200 and below) 35 mm films. Faster films (ISO 400 and above ) only three runs
should be attempted.

* While color development time is critical bleach-fix and
stabilizer times can be extended up to 50%.
** Wash the film in running water. If no running water is
available fill the tank with tempered water and agitate continuously, changing the water
every 30 seconds. For washing film in a Jobo processor fill the tank with the appropriate
amount of water, allow the drum to rotate, changing the water every 30 seconds.
Processing by Hand Inversion:
- Developer and Bleachfix must be brought to the process
temperature of 38° C ( 100.4° F) before starting processing. this can be done by
immersing the solutions into tempered water.
- Load the film and preheat the loaded tank with the film to the
process temperature by immersing the tank in water for five minutes.
- In order to keep the temperature constant during development
both the tank and solutions should be kept in tempered water.
- After filling the tank with chemistry tap the tank against the
table or sink to dislodge any air bubbles that may have become trapped in the tank.
- The tank should be agitated by turning it upside down and then
back to it's original position every 15 seconds during the process.
Rotary Processing:
- Load the film and preheat the tanks exterior in the water bath
of the processor for five minutes.
- After filling the tank with chemistry tap the tank against the
table or sink to dislodge any air bubbles that may have become trapped in the tank. If you
are using a JOBO processor with lift it is not necessary to tap the tank
- Rotation speed should be between 65 and 75 rpm. If you are
using a JOBO processor with a 3000 series tank the speed should be set at level four.
