PART ONE

This section applies to all processors.

1. Disconnect the hoses from the water inlets.

2. Disconnect the chemical hoses from the large gray tubes in the chemical bottles.

3. Disconnect the air lines, leaving the black plastic elbows attached to the hoses.

4. Raise the lift arm by pressing the set 0 button, and then press the left most button under the digital display while still holding the set 0 button.

5. There are two large flathead stainless steel screws on the trough side of the unit, located on either side of the cog gear. Remove them.

PART TWO

This section explains the removal of the large gray cover and the reclaim unit on the ATL-3.

1. Remove the 6 flathead screws located around the perimeter of the large gray cover - 3 across the front, 2 at the back by the plumbing, and 1 on the side by the lift arm. Then, lift the cover off, being careful not to catch any hoses or wiring.

2. There are two types of reclaim units for the ATL-3:

If you have a tabletop unit, or are not reclaiming chemistry in the 15 liter bottles below, hold the chemical drain arm all the way back and lift the hinged unit up and out. Remove the reclamation bottles.

If you are reclaiming chemistry into the 15 liter bottles, lift each hose in the sink area off its receptacle and while holding the chemical drain arm back, slide the reclaim unit up and off its mounting bracket.

PART THREE

This section explains the removal of the ATL-3 front/back switch.

1. On the top of the front/back switch, located to the left of the rear set of bottles, you will see a large black thumb nut surrounded by six clear air hoses.

2. Unscrew the thumb nut and lift off the top portion of the switch. (Note: The screw is about 1 1/2 inches long.)

Note: There is a stainless washer on top of the switch, and there are six small 0-rings on the bottom of the top half. The washer and the 0-rings are critical to the operation of your ATL-3. You may want to remove the 0-rings and put them in a safe place. Do not remove the air hoses from the switch top.

3. When reinstalling the front/back switch top, lightly lubricate the O-rings to insure a good seal.

PART FOUR

This section explains how to remove the rinse and fill hoses on all units. There are two options for this procedure. Note: We strongly recommend the first option. It is much simpler and less likely to cause difficulties. ALSO, If you own an ATL-2+, you must follow the procedure outlined in Option 1.

If you choose the first option, you will need to purchase a hose splicing kit, part #93028. The kit has a list price of approximately $10.00.

For either option, label each hose as you disconnect it.

OPTION 1: Cut the fill hose and the rinse hoses 2 to 3 inches from where they come out of the upper head. Label each end of each hose. Do Not cut any chemical or air hoses. When reinstalling the unit, follow the directions included with the splicing kit you purchased. Note: The ATL-1 does not have a fill hose.

OPTION 2: There are two sections in this option.

Section One is directed to the ATL-1 and ATL-2.

1. Your lift should already be in a raised position. If you lowered it, raise it.

2. Again, please note that the ATL-1 does not have a fill hose.

3. Remove the bottles from the trough.

4. Remove the 5 screws located around the perimeter of the red trough; 3 in the front and 2 in the back.

5. Lift off the red trough.

6. Lift out the heat exchange coil, which looks like a large spring, and use the pliers to twist off the hose clamps. If these clamps break, you can either pick up a suitable substitute or order our part #35047. Pull the hoses off either end of the coil.

7. The fill hose for the ATL-2 is attached with a ty-wrap to a nylon elbow on the bottom of the lower motor unit. Reach under the motor unit and cut the ty-wrap. Pull the hose off.

Section Two is directed to the ATL-3.

1. Your lift should already be in a raised position. If you lowered it, raise it.

2. If you have auto refill for the rear set of chemical bottles, also disconnect the refill hoses on the back set of bottles. Push the refill hoses through the openings in the trough. Slide the upper trough off.

3. Remove the bottles from the trough.

4. Remove the 8 Allen screws located around the perimeter of the upper trough. Three across the front, three across the back, and two at the right end.

5. On the top of the front/back switch, located to the left of the rear set of bottles, you will see a large black thumb nut surrounded by six clear air hoses.

When replacing the top of the front/back switch, lubricate the O-rings with a light coat of petroleum jelly to insure a good seal.

6. Disconnect the front/back switch sensor from the lower piece of the switch. It is secured by 2 small flathead screws.

7. Slide the upper trough off the unit.

8. The heat exchange coil, which looks like a large spring, is attached to the lower trough. Using your pliers, twist off the hose clamps. If these clamps break, you can either pick up a suitable substitute or order our part #35047. Pull the hoses off either end of the coil.

9. The fill hose is attached with a ty-wrap to a nylon elbow on the bottom of the lower motor unit. Reach under the motor unit and cut the ty-wrap, then pull the hose off.

PART FIVE

This section applies to all units.

1. Lower the lift arm by holding the set 0 button in while pressing the second button from the left under the display.

2. Turn off the power and unplug the unit.

PART SIX

This section explains the removal of the ATL-1 and ATL-2 chemical reclaim unit.

1. Remove the chemical reclaim unit by twisting off the two thumb nuts located at the top of the reclaim unit. Slide the reclaim unit away from the processor and set aside.

PART SEVEN

This section explains how to remove the ATL-2 or ATL-3 fuse access panel.

1. Remove the 2 small Phillips head screws located just below the display panel. Slide off the access panel, being careful not to lose the rubber grommet(s) on the right side.

PART EIGHT

This section explains how to remove the ATL-2 Plus reclaim unit and fuse access panel.

1. To remove the chemical reclamation assembly, take out the 4 Phillips head screws located on the cover to the reclaim area. Lift off the cover and set it aside.

2. Remove the 2 screws that hold the reclaim unit in place. Note: There may be washers on both the top of the reclaim unit and below the plate where the screws are inserted.

3. Push the chemical drain arm all the way back and lift up on the chemical reclaim assembly plate just enough to prop it on the chemical drain arm. This will give you access to the bracket discussed in Part 10.

4. To remove the fuse access panel, take off the front bottle cover. Remove the 2 small Phillips head screws located just below the display panel.

5. Using your Allen key, remove the screw located just behind the first hinge for the front bottle cover. Slide the access panel off, being careful not to lose the rubber grommet on the right side.

PART NINE

This section explains how to disconnect the cables between the upper head and the lower motor unit for the ATL-2, the ATL-2+ and the ATL-3.

1. Behind the fuse access panel you will find 2 cables: one gray ribbon cable, and a round gray cable.

2. At the top of the ribbon cable you will see a hinge on either side of the connector. Move the hinges out to the side and slightly up to push the connector out of its receptacle.

3. On the round gray cable you will find a black locking connector. Pull the cable apart at the connector. Note: This connection has a tendency to be stiff.

PART TEN

This section applies to removing the upper head from the lower motor unit for all Autolabs.

1. On the left side of the machine you will find a bracket that wraps around and grips the lower motor unit by the power cord. Pull the bracket away from the bottom of the lower motor unit and lift off the upper head. (A flat blade screwdriver may be used to release the bracket.)

Note: The ATL-2+ chemical drain arm and chemical reclaim unit have a tendency to obstruct each other. Be cautious when lifting the head.
